About

My research focuses on Youth Media and arts programs that draw on community cultural resources to enrich the discourses of school and the expand the spaces of learning. I am interested in the potential of these collaborative ventures for developing multimodal literacies, creativity, critical inquiry, and civic engagement among young people. My research has been conducted primarily among Latina/a youth, and my teaching has been in the area of bilingual, multicultural, and ESL education.
